ADVENTURES IN SITE TRACKING #2
PERHAPS I WAS BORN TOO SOON

Site Tracking Adventure #2: AUGUST 12, 2006 (Part 1)

I sometimes think I was born too soon. This is the second time I've seen someone say they needed a funny picture from a videogame for a school project. The first was in one of the Q&A Archive when someone asked to borrow that Bebedora "Flying Castle" picture. I've had countless school projects, but none that were so cool that they'd require a funny screenshot from a game.

Comments from the RAU Gallery:

Christopher: One time I had this school project where I demonstrated the effects of Light Magic on vaccuum-sealed popcorn kernels.

I'd say the experiment was an overflowing success. I could be wrong, but for some reason, I don't think Professor Crow agreed.

Chester: Dude! That's awesome!
Chance: Did anyone else but me notice that some of the screenshots being recommended for this school project, including some from this site, are of a "sexually explicit" nature?
Lukyan: No, just you.
Chance: You don't think it's a little strange?
Lukyan: Beats me. I didn't even read it. I'm just here so that everyone's names in the sketch don't begin with "CH".
Chance: Using game screenshots for a school project, difficult as it may be for your feeble minds to comprehend, is plausible. But presenting screenshots to your teacher that portray accidental videogame p0rn is...
Lukyan: Akin to the time we gave you a Magic Eye Book and it put you in traction for three weeks?
Chance: TWO-AND-A-HALF!!
Chester: Dude! One time I went to school and I had to go down these stairs, but they were wet, so I slipped on the top one and fell and landed on my butt and then I kept bouncing down each step on my butt until I reached the bottom.

(2009 Update: Link is now dead, but I quoted the relevant part below)

Fairly normal discussion of favorite NES games. There's just one comment in particular that caught my attention:

"u know if you put 2 game genies toghter u could get 6 codes lol"

Uh, well, that's not what I heard happens when you put two Game Genies together...But I can't tell you which is the truth because not only do I not own two Game Genies, but I'm afraid both possible outcomes would result in too much joy and happiness for my little heart to handle. So let's hear it from someone who has actually done the experiment...

Comments from the RAU Gallery:

Christopher: Who me? I've never actually put two Game Genies together. No, ma'am...I went the whole distance and put THREE Game Genies together!!!!

I can't tell you for sure what happened, but man, was it great!
